Gwyneth Paltrow opened up about her past relationships, revealing that it has been a struggle when it comes to her love life.
The Oscar winner talked with Sophia Amoruso on her GirlBoss Radio podcast about her difficulty to maintain a successful relationship. “Success to me is really relationships that function really well. Where there is a beautiful feedback loop between people. I mean, I think without relationships of quality, you are not a successful person,” said Paltrow during the interview, released on August 30.
“So, if you don’t have a good relationship with your partner, your children, your best friends, then I think it’s very hard to claim success. And it’s also free and it also makes life feel full and rich and happy, like the quality of your relationships dictate so much of how your life feels. So for me, that’s the number one.”
“I’ve f—ked up so many relationships. So many,” admitted the Iron Man star. “I’m actually a pretty good friend and a good sister and a daughter and a mother, but I am at my potentially most vulnerable and f—led up in the romantic slice of the pie. So it’s taken me a lot of work to get to the place where I have a good romantic relationship.”
The actress also took the opportunity to make fun of her relationship with Brad Pitt. “I f—ked that up, Brad,” she joked. The blonde actors began dating after meeting on the set of David Fincher’s film Seven, back in 1994. Pitt proposed to Paltrow two years later but they broke off the engagement in 1997.
After Pitt, Paltrow also dated Ben Affleck and she later married to Colplay’s frontman Chris Martin. The two were together for 12 years before the infamous “conscious uncoupling”, back in 2015.
The actress is currently dating Brad Falchuck, co-creator of Glee.
