A recent statement by Liam Payne is music to the ears for millions of One Directioners. In a recent interview, the 1D singer talked about his music career and the future of the popular boy band.
The pop star said that a reunion with his former bandmates is a matter of when, not if. “Yes, I think we will reunite at some point in the future,” said Payne.
“We have to. I mean, we’ve got an album we haven’t even toured yet, and I want to write some more songs as well with the boys.”
Payne also revealed about which One Direction member he would like to collaborate with. “I think I would collaborate best with Zayn [Malik] because we do really similar types of music.”
The British heartthrobs went their separate ways back in 2015, announcing an indefinite hiatus after the release of their fifth album Made in the A.M, and since then fans from all over the world have been expecting some news about their comeback.
Currently all the 1D boys have released solo music, Harry Styles is going to hit the road next month, and Niall Horan will follow suit with a small tour of his own that’ll start at the end of this month.
Meanwhile, Liam hasn’t announced any tour dates yet, but he said he would rather stick to the arenas One Direction used to perform in.
“I love a big stage and I like running around,” the singer said. “I do like smaller venues, it’s nice and intimate, but I love to do really big shows, and I want to put on a great show with loads of different elements so we can all have a good time.”
In addition to his busy year, Liam recently became a father to his first child, with his girlfriend, singer Cheryl Cole, giving birth to their son Bear back in March.
