How sweet! ‘The Voice’ contestant Lauren Diaz had the biggest night of her life Sept, 20, and it wasn’t just her amazing blind audition on the show. After she totally slayed and got Alicia Keys as her coach, her boyfriend was waiting off stage to propose to her. Click through to see video of the beautiful moment.
Gorgeous singer Lauren Diaz was the last contestant up for the night of blind auditions on The Voice, and since she is completely obsessed with new judge Alicia Keys, she naturally went for her classic hit “If I Ain’t Got You.” It was ridiculously great so naturally Alicia pushed the button to choose her, but so did Miley Cyrus and Blake Shelton. Of course she ended up going Team Alicia, but the best of the night was still to come.
As they were walking off stage, Alicia gave Lauren some HUGE praise, telling her “I’ve never heard anyone sing that song like that,” then the contestant revealed in a confessional that “I’m so blessed to be here and I can’t even begin to think what’s going to happen next.” Well, what happened is her boyfriend Randy was waiting backstage on one knee with a ring in his hand.
After she naturally said “yes,” Randy told the cameras,”I’m really excited for our future together and I’m really excited for her right now,” as Lauren flashed her giant sparkler for the viewing audience to see. Lauren proudly proclaimed “I’m engaged!” and was shown holding the couple’s adorable four-year-old son.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen someone get engaged after a blind audition on The Voice. In season nine, the singing duo of Amanda and Jubal belted out The Eagles’ “Seven Bridges Road” and Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams all turned their chairs around. When Blake asked if they were a couple or married, Amanda said “one day,” and Jubal then dropped to one knee, pulled out a ring and proposed. Man, love is really in the air on this show
